➡️TIP OF THE WEEK

“WHY MY CV IS ALWAYS REJECTED?”

On our last Latam Tech Hero News we’ve talked about the famous ATS, which stands for “Applicant Tracking System”. This is the software that everyone fears and almost no one understands.

In a nutshell, whenever you apply for a job, your application and CV are entered into software (the ATS) used by the HR team to track applications, filter candidates, send messages and emails, and keep a record of the entire process.

The point is, the ATS needs to "read" the information on your CV to parse it into the platform, making it accessible for the HR team. If your CV is in a format that the software can't parse, the recruiter won't be able to "see" or filter your CV correctly, and you'll likely be rejected automatically by the initial filters.

DON’T BLAME THE AI

I've seen influencers on TikTok claiming that recruiters don't read CVs anymore and that AI is automatically rejecting candidates.

Honestly, I wish it were the AI. I really do!

In Tech Recruitment, we've been using very rigid, expensive, and outdated softwares. Almost no company is using AI, or at least using AI correctly, to match candidates with job descriptions.

I've tested two different platforms that claim to use AI for candidate matching, and they suck! They are neither accurate nor reliable. Trust me, 99.9% of the time, it's not AI.

So, if you've been ghosted, it's probably because your CV didn't get parsed correctly by the ATS.

And here's the good news: I'm going to teach you what you should stop doing on your CV if you want to land a remote job!
